VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • PUPPY SOCIALIZATION FOSTER

    Puppy socialization fosters must commit to 2 months with an 8-10 week old puppy until they are ~4 months old. The main goal is to expose your assigned puppy to as many positive experiences as possible. Each puppy socialization foster is provided with an orientation and must attend 2 training sessions prior to taking home their first assigned puppy. Each puppy trainer will be provided with all supplies, instruction, and guidelines on how to raise, care, and train their service puppy in-training. All handling hours are recorded by the Bayside Training Team and can be used towards earning your Certification for Professional Dog Trainers.

  • TRAINING FOSTER

    Training fosters help raise and train our service dogs in-training starting from 4 months old through to placement. Each training foster is able to progress through different levels to broaden their knowledge on how to train basic obedience, advanced obedience, and disability tasks. Each training foster applicant must complete an orientation and attend 2 training sessions with staff prior to taking home a service dog in-training. Every training foster will begin their training foster journey with the youngest service dog in-training available at time of application. There is no specific time commitment required for training fosters, but the more time committed - the more handling experience and knowledge you will be able to receive. All handling hours are recorded by the Bayside Training Team and can be used towards earning your Certification for Professional Dog Trainers.

  • ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEER

    Administrative volunteers help Bayside with their administrative duties including but not limited to: sending thank you letters, ordering items, tracking inventory, helping with sponsorships, businesses, and donors, etc.

  • MARKETING & EVENTS VOLUNTEER

    Marketing and events volunteers help spread the word about Bayside and our mission. Volunteers can help with tabling and awareness events to promote our organization. Marketing and events volunteers can also help with managing and creating content for our social media accounts. Marketing and events volunteers are required to go through a handling orientation in order to handle a Bayside Service Dog In-Training in public.
